In Mongolian, Lop Nur means ¡°The Lake Converging Many Water Sources¡±. Occupying 3,066 square kilometers, it was the biggest salt migration lake in Chin. On the south route of ancient Silk Road, it functioned as the only way in the ancient communications between east and west. People here used to herb, fish, live joyfully and carefree, until one day in 1970, the lake dried up. The last Lop Nur people moved away leaving behind their home. Now in the dry air still reverberate the caravan bells, laughter of Loulan girls and signs of Lop Nur men.

Highlights:
Ancient Loulan is the most fascinating place of all the historic sites on the Silk Road found by Swedish explorer Sven Anders Hedin in 1930s during his desert exploration to Lop Nur. A key hub of traffic with brilliant commercial prosperity, a city once with a population of thousands, suddenly disappeared from the history. The rise and fall of the ancient State of Loulan has presented a baffling mystery to us. The answer is simple and shocking ¨C it was completely submerged by the desert. Now only the ruins, mummies and relics continue to be buried and unearthed by the wind once and again.

Yadan, which means ¡°The Steep Earthen Mount¡± in Uygur, has now become a world to indicate a special topography in dry areas. Because of strong water corrosion and fierce wind erosion, a series of parallel ditches. They can be all sorts of shapes, and present a splendid sight.
